The Keepers in Kingswood is the first satellite hub of The Keepers, Wotton Area Community Hub offering a Drop-in Café and a Community Pantry and Information Point.

Drop-in Cafe

Location: Lower Schoolroom, 1 The Walk, Kingswood, GL12 8RP

Opening Times

Tuesday: 2pm - 5pm

Friday: 10am - 1pm

Our Drop-in café is much more than a café. It is a safe and welcoming place to meet others, and find help if you need it.

Our fabulous volunteers are there to welcome visitors, spend time with you and if needed act as a sign post to where help can be found.

We also invite local organisations, services and groups to visit us and provide valuable advice and support to the local community.

Monday - Saturday: 10am - 4pm

The Community Pantry is located inside St Mary’s basic foodstuffs and toiletries available to anyone in the village who may benefit from this provision.

From forgetting to put a tin of baked beans in your shopping to struggling to make ends meet, the pantry is available for anyone in the village to take what you need on a Pay-as-you-feel basis. This may be £0 or £20 and everything in between!

You can also find details and contact information for for various local services, groups and organisations who can offer a variety of support.

How you can get involved

1 - Become a Volunteer

We have a variety of volunteering roles available as part of our new drop in café, you could:

  • Sit and chat to those who pop in*

  • Serve drinks and cakes in the café*

  • Welcome and help answer queries on reception*

  • Help set up and take down to get ready for each session

  • Bake cakes every 1-3 months to serve in the café

  • Wash tea towels and aprons

From one hour a month to 4 hours a week, every hour will really make a difference!

To note: The ✻ roles require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, policies to be read and a short safeguarding course to be completed.

2 - Become a Supporter

Provide a regular financial contribution, helping us to meet our ongoing costs, and become self supporting.


3 -Donate to our Community Pantry

We appreciate any donations of food items and toiletries that we can use to offer in our community pantry.

Examples of items you could donate include:

* Dried food e.g. cereal, pasta, rice

* Tinned food e.g. baked beans, chopped tomatoes, tinned fruit

* Sanitary products e.g. tampons, sanitary pads

* Toiletries e.g. shower gel, toothpaste

* Toilet Roll

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept food items that include nuts and alcohol, refrigerated or frozen foods, homemade items, items that have been opened or have damaged packaging and any items that have passed their best before date.

Items can be dropped off in the ‘Keepers in Kingswood’ collection box located in the porch in St Mary’s Church, Kingswood.
